Munroe Properties is a new name built on two long-running island firms. In 2026, Wendy Wilmot Properties and Bald Head Island Services joined forces under the Munroe name, led by owners and brokers Brandy and John Munroe. Brandy started in Bald Head Island Limited’s rental division in 2005 and launched her own company in 2010; John was Bald Head Island Limited’s salesperson of the year six years running before joining Wendy Wilmot Properties in 2009.
On the rental side, the company manages about 189 homes, and every one comes with the use of a golf cart. Check-in is self-serve, linens are supplied, and most homes can add a club guest membership for an extra fee. On the sales side, the brokers handle homes, land, co-ownership shares, and boat slips, and publish a monthly island market report. The office is in the Merchant’s Row buildings, beside Antique Maps & More. Look for the pink golf carts, which double as the company’s mobile offices.

Good to know
- Every rental includes the use of a golf cart, and each listing says how many. Leaving the cart at the ferry landing costs a fee plus towing.
- Check-in is self-serve; the keys wait on the kitchen counter.
- Linens and bath towels are supplied. Beach towels are not.
- Most homes can add a Bald Head Island Club or Shoals Club guest membership, bought from the club at extra cost. Buy at least a week ahead to avoid a $100 late fee.
- Pets stay only in pet-friendly homes, which charge a nonrefundable pet fee.
