Christie’s International Real Estate’s Bald Head Island office, “an Ivester Jackson company,” works out of the Merchant’s Row offices, where you’ll spot a metal heron by the door. It took over from Atlantic Realty Professionals, which David Berne ran on the island for more than two decades, and the people and the phone number carried over.
Berne has worked the Bald Head market for more than 30 years and over a thousand transactions, and his family, he notes, built the first home on the island in 1973. The office handles home and homesite sales, fractional and timeshare shares, boat slips, and commercial property, and its website keeps island lifestyle guides and a handy list of local service providers.
