Bald Head Island Vacations runs about thirty rental homes from its office on Merchant’s Row, along with property management for owners and a small real estate sales team. The houses cover most of the island’s settings, from maritime forest retreats and creek-view cottages to golf course and oceanfront homes, and every one comes with at least one golf cart, some with two.
In summer the homes rent by the week, with arrival days on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday depending on the house. Club access isn’t part of the rental; guests at eligible homes can buy passes directly from the Bald Head Island Club or the Shoals Club. The office is staffed by a small team of island and Southport locals.

Good to know
- Check-in is after 4pm and check-out is by 9am.
- Club passes aren't included; guests at eligible homes buy them from the clubs, with a $100 fee inside five days of arrival.
- There's no security deposit, but accidental damage insurance is required.
- Pets stay only in pet-friendly homes, for a $250 fee.
- Ferry tickets aren't included; drop your bags at the Deep Point lower level and the tram brings them to the house.
