Midway Coffee
A mid-island coffee shop on Edward Teach Extension: espresso and iced drinks, acai bowls, avocado and salmon toasts, breakfast tacos, smoothies, shakes, and ice cream, with a shaded patio.
Midway Coffee opened in late 2021 in the island’s old police station on Edward Teach Extension, alongside its sister restaurant, Jailhouse Provisions. The shop describes itself as sitting in the middle of the island, and it’s a short ride from the Maritime Market and the shops on Maritime Way.
The menu covers more than coffee. Mornings bring hot and iced espresso drinks, matcha, chai, and London Fogs, acai bowls, toasts topped with egg and avocado or cucumber and salmon, and breakfast tacos. Later in the day it turns to smoothies, milkshakes, and ice cream in waffle cones. Take it to go, or settle in on the shaded patio.
