Bald Head Bottle
A wine shop and bar on Maritime Way: bottles to take home, wines by the glass and flights, draft beer and cocktails, snacks, and weekly tastings, with kids and pets welcome.
Bald Head Bottle opened in 2023 on Maritime Way, in The Esplanade building it shares with the Cape Fear Distillery shop and Monkee’s. It works two ways: as a bottle shop for stocking the rental, and as a relaxed bar where you can sit inside or out with a glass, a flight of reds or whites, a draft beer, or a cocktail.
Owner and sommelier Jordyn Matthews, who also owns property on the island, keeps the list curated, and a Bottle Club sends members monthly picks along with discounts and early access. Weekly tastings and seasonal parties fill the calendar, and kids and dogs are welcome. If you like to plan ahead, the website’s order form lets you request bottles before your trip and pick them up once you’re here.

- Retail spirits aren't part of the shop; the Cape Fear Distillery store in the same building sells those.
