Copper's Wood-Fired Kitchen

Also known as Copper's Wood-Fired Pizza

The Shops at Maritime Way

Wood-fired pizza at the Maritime Market: hand-formed sourdough pies from a 900-degree oven, from a Queen Margherita to the honey-drizzled Honeycup, ordered at the market's side porch window.

Copper’s is the Maritime Market’s pizza kitchen. You order from a window on the market’s side porch, and the pies come out of a wood-fired oven that runs around 900 degrees. Claude Pope added it after he and his wife Melissa took over the market.

The pizzas are hand-formed, about 12 inches across, on a house-made sourdough crust. The house list runs from a Queen Margherita to the Honeycup, with marinara, Manchego, sausage, banana peppers, and a drizzle of honey, plus a Buffalo chicken, a Philly, and a Meat Lovers. Or build your own from four sauces, a long list of cheeses, and the usual toppings. It’s carryout only, and summer evenings can mean a real wait, so order early.

What you'll find

  • Hand-formed pies, about 12 inches, on house-made sourdough
  • Baked in a wood-fired oven that runs around 900 degrees
  • House pies such as the Queen Margherita, the Honeycup (sausage, banana peppers, Manchego, and honey), Buffalo chicken, the Zorba, and Meat Lovers
  • Build your own on tomato basil, alfredo, pesto, or garlic and olive oil
  • Cheeses from mozzarella and Manchego to goat cheese, brie, and Claude's jalapeño pimento cheese
  • A cauliflower crust option

Good to know

  • Order at the window on the Maritime Market's side porch. It is carryout only.
  • At busy times the wait can run an hour or more, and staffing sometimes limits ordering to in person.
  • The cauliflower crust shares the oven with everything else, so it isn't safe for celiac diners.
  • Pies run about $14 to $22 on the current menu.
