Jailhouse Provisions
Also known as Jailhouse
A full-service restaurant and bar in the island's old police station: crab dip and poke nachos, seafood baskets, big salads, burgers and crab cake sandwiches, and island cocktails.

Jailhouse Provisions opened in late 2021 in the island’s former police station on Edward Teach Extension. The station never actually had a jail, so the name is a wink: the old police building finally got one. Midway Coffee shares the building, and East Beach Surf Shop is next door.
Despite the name, it’s a full-service restaurant with a full bar, open for lunch and dinner. Start with table grabs like house-made potato chips, crab dip, or poke tuna nachos, then pick from fried seafood baskets, big salads, or handhelds such as a crab cake sandwich, with a couple of dishes named for owners Harper Peterson and Plunkett Dodge (Harper’s Tuna Melt, Plunkett’s Chopped). This fall, Thursdays bring a Guest Chef Trivia Night; in summer, DJs play in the evenings.
