Monkee’s of Bald Head Island is the island branch of the Monkee’s boutique franchise, independently owned and set in The Esplanade building at 2 Maritime Way, a short walk past the Maritime Market. It’s a women’s clothing shop with a beach-town bent: dresses, tops, and jumpsuits, swimwear, sneakers and sandals, and a wall of jewelry, sunglasses, hats, and bags.
The racks lean on brands you may know, Paige, PJ Salvage, Faithfull the Brand, Sam Edelman, and Jack Rogers among them, and there’s a small selection of home and gift pieces for whoever stayed home. Most of the shop is online too.
