Jules' Salty Grub & Island Pub

The Marina

A harborside pub at the entrance to the marina: Calabash-style seafood baskets, burgers and po'boys, a summer sushi bar, and a pet-friendly deck facing the ferries.

Jules’ Salty Grub & Island Pub sits at the entrance to the Bald Head Island Marina, in the spot that was MoJo’s on the Harbor until Dave and Jules Showalter took it over in 2019. Their deck faces the ferry docks, so lunch comes with a view of the boats coming and going, and dogs are welcome out there.

The menu is coastal and casual. Start with hushpuppies and honey butter or peel-and-eat shrimp, then go for a Calabash-style basket of fried shrimp, oysters, scallops, or flounder, or a burger, tacos, or a lobster roll. Dinner adds plates like seafood fra diavolo and a ribeye, and in summer a sushi bar turns out poke bowls and rolls. Several of the bar’s cocktails are made with spirits from Cape Fear Distillery, which has a shop up on Maritime Way.
