Cary Cart Company
Also known as BHI Carts
Golf cart rentals from a hut by the ferry landing: 4- and 6-passenger carts (some enclosed) by the day or longer, booked online and picked up when you arrive. Renters must be 21 with a license.

Cary Cart Company started in Cary, North Carolina, in 2013, became a Club Car dealer, and came to Bald Head Island in 2016 when it bought Bald Head Island Limited’s golf cart rental operation. Its rental hut sits behind the Dockmaster building near the ferry landing, so you can book ahead and pick up your cart right after you step off the boat.
The fleet is mostly 4- and 6-passenger carts, some of them enclosed for cooler weather, plus a few 2-seaters. Rentals run by the day (opening to closing) or for longer stays, from a weekend to a month. Cary Cart also sells and services carts from a shop on Edward Teach Extension.
What you'll find
- 4- and 6-passenger carts, including enclosed 6-seaters
- 2-passenger enclosed carts, when available
- Day rentals, weekends, and stays up to a month
- Online booking with pickup on arrival
- Cart sales and service at its Edward Teach Extension shop
Good to know
- Renters must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license.
- A day rental runs from opening to closing, not 24 hours. Return at least 15 minutes before closing to avoid a late fee.
- Cancelled reservations aren't refunded.
- Carts often sell out later in the day, so book the night before or first thing in the morning.
- Plug the cart in overnight; a full charge takes 8 to 10 hours.
